Greeks are known for their great food and friendly disposition. The Olive Tree Bistro is no exception to this Greek attitude. The restaurant resides at the iconic Excelsior Hotel in Glebe and is fast becoming a favourite among local diners that are catching the street whispers of this place. Our mission is “a passion to serve food of home-made quality” and because we make all produce in-house, we can stand by our promise. The vines leaves for the dolmades are picked from our papu’s grapevine, our pastry rolled daily and our fish is bought from the local Pyrmont fish-market down the road every morning!

If you are looking for an authentic and classic Greek menu, The Olive Tree Bistro will deliver all your favourites and more. Starting with an extensive selection of Mezze (shared entrée style dishes), ranging from our famous Greek dips, vegetarian fritters and seafood combinations as well as a large selection of mains. The menu is seasonal and special’s board is updated weekly to keep it interesting.

We open Tues-Sun, lunch from 12pm-3pm and Mon-Sun, dinner 5pm-9.30pm.

The restaurant seats 55 guests which can be divided for Private Dinning rooms of up to 30 seated guests. We offer two Greek-cuisine banquet menus, a cocktail option and drink packages for function groups of up to 100 guests that will cater for any special event.
